Jason Powell
Associate Attorney | Immigration Department
Jason is an Associate Attorney at Saravia Law specializing in family- and humanitarian-based immigration law, whose practice primarily involves green cards, naturalization, affirmative asylum, detention bond release, reentry-bar waivers, and removal defense representation.
Jason's interest in immigration began in Hawaii, where he assisted Marshallese communities affected by the ongoing Micronesian migrant crisis. In this role, he often served as an interpreter for immigration attorneys, helping counsel migrants about their rights under the Compact of Free Association, their pathways to naturalization, and the benefits available to them as noncitizens. This experience inspired him to pursue a career helping people navigate the complexities of the U.S. immigration system.
In law school, Jason served as a Court Service Center Intern at the Fenton Judicial Center in Lawrence, Massachusetts, assisting self-represented litigants in the family and probate, housing, district, and juvenile courts. He also worked under a Boston-based trademark attorney, preparing clearance reports, office action responses, notices of opposition, and other matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Jason earned his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School, with a concentration in Intellectual Property Law and a focus in Immigration Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy from Utah Valley University, with minors in Political Science and Constitutional Studies. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, represents clients before the Executive Office for Immigration Review, and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
Outside the office, Jason enjoys running, playing hockey, watching documentaries, eating spicy food, and spending time with his wife and two dogs.

Joshua
Paralegal | Family Department
Josh hasn’t exactly figured out what he wants to be when he grows up. Originally a graduate of UMass-Dartmouth with a multidisciplinary Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science and Philosophy, he began his working career in hospital laboratories in and around Boston before transitioning to a technical support role.
Post-Covid, Josh found his attention shifting to the legal field, and was captivated by the Karen Read case out of Norfolk Superior Court. Soon he discovered the role of a paralegal in the legal team and was pleasantly surprised to discover that yes—you can make a living as a writer, even in a non-traditional sense. Josh enjoys the legal research of his role, and how his writing can help a case have lasting, meaningful results. To sharpen his legal writing, Josh participated and eventually graduated from a paralegal certification program through Boston University.
Josh is considering making the jump from paralegal to attorney in the coming years, bringing his skills honed as a paralegal into practice as a lawyer. For now he’s content to help from behind the scenes to keep cases moving.
In his spare time, Josh is a self-taught artist, specializing in graphite pencils and soft pastels. He’s currently wrapping up work on his first novel which he hopes to publish at the end of 2026. You may find him working on his art or writing in an out-of-the way coffee shop in and around Boston.

Oscar
President
Oscar is the beloved President of Saravia Law. As the firm's most distinguished (and fluffiest) executive, Oscar takes his leadership responsibilities very seriously. Known for his stern demeanor, high expectations, and no-nonsense management style, Oscar oversees daily operations, maintains office discipline, and ensures the entire team stays on task. He may not have a law degree, but his authority is unquestionable, and his disapproving stare is often more effective than a formal performance review.
When he's not supervising the staff, Oscar enjoys his well-deserved breaks, delicious snacks, and reminding everyone that respect is earned, not given.
